  SQU Quilt Camp is a three day "stay-retreat", where you bring your sewing machine and projects and sew with friends for three days and go home at night!  Open to SQU Members Only, a registration code is required.

  Space is limited so sign up early!  Pay $10 for one day, $20 for two or $30 for all three days.  Lunch is provided or you can bring your own lunch.  The last day to sign up is Friday June 6th.  There will be no refunds after this date as the food will be ordered.

  We will depart Saratoga Park and Ride on Barta Road, Springfield, VA promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, arriving at Richmond Convention Center by 9:45 a.m.

  We will be greeted by a show hostess who will have entry ID for us.

  Bus tickets will be sold through April 15th for $45.00 (including discounted admission ticket - good for all 3 days!).  After April 15th, the bus ticket price remains $45, but you will need to purchase your show entrance ticket at the door.

  This workshop will explore the African/West Indian tradition of Kawandi Quilting while working on a small handmade mini quilt. The workshop includes short presentation on the tradition of Kawandi quilting, and provide a list of resources for further exploration. During this class we work on an entirely hand-made mini quilt, working from the outside into the middle.

FQU provides the space to sew – you provide everything else. It is three days of sewing with your friends at the Burke Presbyterian Church, 5690 Oak Leather Drive, Burke VA 22015. • SQU - Retro Bloom Curves Workshop - Erin Grogan

  During this 4-hour class we will cover 3 different methods for sewing curves so that each student can discover the method that works best for them. We will also be sewing a block that has a curve within the curve, Drunkard’s path, and Orange Peels! 

  This is a great intermediate curves class for quilters who want to gain confidence is sewing multiple style of curves blocks. 

  By the end of this class most students complete the wall hanging size of the pattern. Students will have the skills and confidence to make the throw size quilt if they choose. 

  This class uses my Retro Curved Pieced Quilts book. Each student will be required to purchase the book for the class. Student’s will need to precut their fabric before the class to make the most of our time together.
