Where We Donate Our Charity Quilts:

1) The Inova Ewing Forensic Assessment and Consultation Teams (FACT) address the unique needs of abused children and adults, primarily women. FACT offers expert medical evaluation and forensic evidence collection, and provides expert interpretation based on training, experience, and medical data. They care for patients who have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual assault and abuse, and strangulation. At the center the patients are each given a blanket and when available, that means they choose from among our donated quilts.

Size: They prefer throw size (around 60x60 inches), which provide warmth and comfort which they take with them after the assessment.

2) Bridges to Independence supports people, especially families, in Arlington who are currently experiencing homelessness. When new residents enter the shelter, they are given a quilt as a bed cover. Each family member receives a quilt that they take with them when they transition to more permanent housing.  Residents of the Bridges shelter are families, so quilts appealing to all types of family members are needed.

Size: The quilts should be roughly twin sized (around 66x88 inches).  Bridges also appreciates pillow cases and a few baby quilts.

Fabric Request: The organization requests that no humans or animals are depicted on the fabrics.

Pre-Washing Not Needed: Bridges has a standard procedure that all quilts are automatically washed upon arrival, so laundering in advance is unnecessary.
