AnQU Fabric Sale (October 10, 2026)

AnQU is having a fabric sale on October 10 thanks to the generous donations of our members. Fabric will be sold at $7 per pound (approximately 3 yards). Boutique items will also be available for purchase created by our members.

AnQU - Education Bee (October 14, 2026)

This bee usually includes a short demonstration of a tool or technique. It's a great opportunity to get to meet and chat with many of our members. Bring a covered drink and some hand work or just come for conversation.

AnQU Meeting (October 21, 2026)

Our October meeting will include a program called "Organizing Your Sewing Room" with Maria Spetalnik.

Afterward, she'll present a workshop to make a scrap quilt called "Order and Chaos". See the calendar event to register for the workshop.

This meeting lasts about two hours with an approximately 30-minute business meeting, show and tell, refreshment break, and a 60-minute program.

All are welcome to join us. We have a lot of fun together celebrating the art of quilt making. There are many ways you can get involved.

AnQU "Order and Chaos" Workshop (October 21, 2026)

Maria Spetalnik, owner of Conquer the Clutter, will conduct a workshop to make a scrap quilt Table Topper called "Order and Chaos".

Class fee is $35.00.

See picture and supply list. Read the supply list carefully. If using your own fabric, you may pre-cut your 2" strips. Using a very colorful fabric will give the look of many fabrics used. Select a background that will contrast nicely with your colored fabric(s). Your strips will be cut again when in class. You will also need 2" fusible grid. Half a yard will be enough. A 15 x 15" square will be used in the project. Maria will have fusible grid available in the class for $12.00 if needed. Or, Maria will bring a few complete kits for your convenience, which contain the fabric and fusible grid needed for the Table Toper. Please reserve your kit in advance by contacting Julie Riggles. There is a limited supply and the cost is $35 for a kit.

The class will cost $35.00 for members.

Reston QU Fabric Sale (October 31, 2026)

Reston QU is having a sale October 31 due to the generous donation of many members and local contributions. Fabric will be sold by the pound (approximately 3 yards). There will be sergers, machines, notions, kits and sundry items for sale.

Stop by between 10am and 1 pm to pick up something new to you! Easy access and plenty of parking behind the church.

QU Program - Teresa Duryea Wong - Kawaii Applique Quilts from Japan (November 04, 2026)

There is a culture of cuteness in Japan that is so pervasive it has its own name, Kawaii. Learn about how this has impacted a new genre of quilts called Kawaii Quilts.

AnQU Fall Retreat (November 11, 2026)

Our fall retreat is a great time to focus on a project or three, spend some time at the beautiful Cacapon State Park, and get to know some your sister members. The lodge was recently remodeled and is truly beautiful. The park has great hiking trails and wonderful views. It is less than two hours from the Fairfax area.

During winter months, we follow Fairfax County Public School policy. If schools are closed, we are cancelled. If schools have a delayed opening, we still meet.
